Foyer Anton Wilhelm Tischbein
upper floor
The Anton Wilhelm Tischbein foyer is directly adjacent to the conference hall on the upper floor. It is often used as a catering area or for accompanying exhibitions during congresses, conferences and meetings. The Anton Wilhelm Tischbein foyer includes the CPH terrace, which – like the glass front in the conference hall – offers a view of the palace gardens. The foyer of the congress area is therefore also the perfect lounge for gala events or banquets.

Anton Wilhelm Tischbein (1730 – 1804)
Anton Wilhelm was a German painter from the Tischbein family of artists. He was also called “Hanauer Tischbein” to distinguish him from other members of the family. He came to Hanau in 1769 as court painter to Hereditary Prince Wilhelm, where he helped to establish the academy of drawing as a member and teacher from 1772. In addition to members of the princely family, Anton Wilhelm Tischbein also painted wealthy patricians from the imperial city of Frankfurt, such as Johann Christian Senckenberg and members of the Brentano and La Roche families. Although portraits make up his main body of work, the “Hanau Tischbein” also decorated the domed hall of the castle ruins in Wilhelmsbad as a painter of buildings.
