Art at CPH
The Congress Park Hanau
A showcase for art – 2004 to 2024
The foundation stone of the “Art in the CPH” series was laid on the occasion of the first birthday of the Congress Park Hanau: On October 3, 2004, Doris Schmidt-Haub, culture prize winner of the Main-Kinzig district, presented the first exhibition. The initiative to establish an exhibition series in the CPH came from Hanau’s city councilor Beate Funck. The CPH was happy to make the glass foyer on the south side – now the “Klaus Remer Foyer” – available and thus offered attractive exhibition space to artists from Hanau’s art associations.
In recent years, over 3,000 works of art – paintings, photographs, sculptures, installations, jewelry and equipment – have been on display.

Beate Funck remained closely associated with “Kunst im CPH” from day one. Over the years, she has been committed to the interests of the artists, opened numerous vernissages and put her heart and soul into developing the program, especially the annual joint exhibitions with their matinees. The “Art at CPH” series would not have been possible without this extraordinary commitment. In 2016, the concept was adapted for the Comoedienhaus Wilhelmsbad.

The joint exhibitions, in which artists from all the artists’ associations and the Goldschmiedehaus Hanau took part, formed the annual highlight of the exhibition series. Each year, the members of the Kunst im CPH series selected the cover picture for the joint exhibition.
