The Brothers Grimm SaaL
Upper floor
Our multifunctional Brothers Grimm Hall measures 871m2 and can be divided into 3 sections. Particularly appreciated by event organizers: the room-wide glass front provides a view of the adjacent castle garden.
The CPH congress hall is both a classic conference hall and a space for more unusual formats such as town hall meetings. It is suitable for stylish receptions, as a showroom, for example for vehicle presentations, or can be transformed into a fabulous ballroom using the available lighting technology.
The Brothers Grimm Hall includes the Anton Wilhelm Tischbein Foyer, the Intermediate Foyer and the Entrance Foyer. These areas can also be used for an accompanying exhibition, catering or get-togethers.

Our rooms honor Hanau legends
Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm
Hanau marks the beginning of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s life, which took them through many places in Germany and Europe. The world-famous brothers were born in Hanau and spent their childhood years in the town until 1791. The house where they were born stood on today’s Freiheitsplatz and, like the entire town center, fell victim to the bombs of the Second World War in 1945. Although the Grimms’ “Children’s and Household Tales” have been translated many times and are only surpassed by the Bible in terms of number of copies, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were much more than collectors of fairy tales. They were Germanists, linguists, democrats and freedom fighters.
Alongside the “German Grammar”, the “German Dictionary” is their greatest work. The city of Hanau has been awarding the prestigious Brothers Grimm Prize for Literature since 1983. The Brothers Grimm Festival has been held in the amphitheater since 1985, with performances attended by well over a million guests from near and far. In 2019, the first Brothers Grimm hands-on museum in Germany, the GrimmsMärchenReich, opened in the north wing of Philippsruhe Palace.
